Food Bank of the Southern Tier — Faces of Hunger Campaign

A lot of people believe the hungry are responsible for their own circumstances – that they’re just too lazy or irresponsible to take care of themselves. Our work set out to change that. We profiled actual Food Bank beneficiaries to show that many of the hungry are just normal people who have hit a rough patch. When someone contributes to the Food Bank, it’s not a donation – it’s an investment. Helping good people in the community get back on their feet. This work enabled the Food Bank of the Southern Tier in Elmira, NY to raise the funds to build a distribution center that tripled their capacity.
